I recommend a visit to the current show at Waddington Custot!
Yves Dana & Richard Höglund are connected by the basal simplicity of their works, which are rich in historical references. The sculptor — originally from Egypt, and the painter from the USA — combine the ancient and the contemporary in their morphology, bringing us into a utopian new world, as if we were in a Dune novel. Their artworks created for me the art addiction — like the spice from the famous science fiction novel, we can travel to new worlds thanks to their work!

Curatorially I have a particular interest in artists who exist at intersections: music and sound art, film and video art etc. Olukemi Lijadu is one such artist: her musical practice (often DJing under her moniker Kem Kem) informs her fine art practice and visa versa.
Lijadu’s three channel moving image work Guardian Angel (which first premiered at the ICA London) was, for me, a highlight of V.O Curation’s 2022 exhibition programming. In Guardian Angel (and her work as a whole) Lijadu examines Western belief systems, religious nuance & generational exchange within the context of her own upbringing in Lagos… all sewn together with immersive sonic installation.
Ben Broome, curator
The first time I met Francesco Arena must have been in 2013 or 2014, over a gin and tonic in Madrid during ARCO Fair… His work is a mixture of histories and The History, a mix of materials and aesthetics, or a minimalist Arte povera. The acute use of language, of numbers and facts, characterise his artistic practice that unfolds in performances, installations, and sculptures…
I am very curious to see how he plays with the tangible and the intangible in his new exhibition There is Nothing Here at Sprovieri gallery, and how he talks about absence by presenting objects with the intelligence that characterises him.
